For the purposes of this travel guide, Eastern India consists of "East India" (see explanation), West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar.
A note about "East India"
The area that makes up "East India" proper is a relatively unvisited by tourist. It contains some amazing sites for those wishing to take a more adventurous trip than most. There has unrest in some parts of this area for the last few years, so it is best to check travel advisories and the local news before you commit to traveling to East India.
